As solar energy systems grow across homes, businesses, and industries, thousands of solar inverters reach their end of life every year. A typical inverter lasts around 5-10 years, depending on quality and environmental conditions. When these devices fail or become obsolete, they often end up in scrap yards or landfills.
The recycling process begins with dismantling the inverter into its core components. Skilled technicians remove the outer casing, extract heat sinks, cooling fans, and separate the internal circuit boards. Heat sinks usually made of pure aluminum they are cleaned and forwarded to metal recyclers, while transformers and inductors are broken down to recover copper windings.
The Electronics is valuable, here solar scrap plays its parts as we are in contact with several solar inverter repair companies who are already scavenging old inverters for parts to make the remaining ones live. After removing the desired MOSFETS , IGBTS and transistors , the remaining electronics are sent to specialist companies for recycling other valuable components such as gold , Silver and Copper etc.
